Matthieu Evrard, International Development Director of Louvre Hotels

Reaching new heights

A graduate of the prestigious Ecole Centrale in Paris, Matthieu Evrard discovered the hotel business in 2003 while performing real estate investment analyses for IPD France while, at the same time, earning a Leisure & Hospitality post-graduate diploma (“DESS Stratégies touristiques et hôtelières”) from La Sorbonne. This opened the doors to B&B in 2004 where his mission consisted of developing the budget hotel chain in France. Then, in 2007, Matthieu Evrard took on a similar mission with Louvre Hotels, but this time on a European scale. Named International Development Director two years later, he played an active role in the acquisition of Golden Tulip that same year. “My mission is to build the Group’s business in the international arena through consolidation, buyouts and affiliations on the European market, and by signing partnerships as we have done in Morocco and Eastern Europe”. He focuses on emerging countries which represent one of today’s main growth engines for the Louvre Hotels Group. A member of the Management Board since February 1st, 2011, Matthieu Evrard intends to serve as a motor to push back the Group’s borders. “I want to make a useful contribution by coming up with new ideas on company management”, claims this 36 year-old passionate. A free fall and paragliding enthusiast - not to mention hot air balloonist who even participates in the French championship - what he loves more than anything is reaching new heights. “To stay in the race, you have to be able to reinvent yourself. I am constantly on the lookout for ideas and concepts from other quarters to help Louvre Hotels remain a front runner.”
