Olivier Cohn

Chief Executive Officer, Best Western France

Olivier Cohn, 38, has been CEO of Best Western France since 1 September 2011. He wanted to “take on new challenges within a brand that in 10 years has confirmed its position as a key player in the French hotel industry”. Cohn’s goal is to ensure the long-term development of Best Western France “by sharing my expertise with hotel owners and serving their best interests. Plus, as a cooperative of independent franchises, Best Western has to help its members recapture their distribution and increase profitability”.

A graduate of the École Supérieure des Sciences Commerciales, Cohn had previously held various key positions within Best Western France for 11 years. Cohn joined Best Western France in 2000 as head of communication technologies, where he was in charge of launching the brand’s first Internet strategy. One year later, he was tapped to lead the IT systems and reservations department, a post he held for two years. After hiring and training a full team, he rolled out new IT solutions, increased hotels’ sales and forged new distribution partnerships. In that role, Cohn also took on international responsibilities as he joined task forces and international support teams on e-commerce, distribution and IT transformation.

In 2003 he became Director of Projects, allowing him to work on cross-cutting projects related to the company’s organisation. He was specifically entrusted with managing French, European and international pricing strategy. He also implemented CRM solutions and created new B2B and B2C products for the hotels. As Director of Projects and E-commerce between 2005 and 2009, Cohn launched direct and indirect online sales through a department entirely devoted to e-commerce. In 2010, he created a new Revenue Management department, through which he developed the chain’s distribution capabilities and helped to increase sales among member hotels.
