After leaving school, Surinder joined British Airways as a Customer Services Officer during which time he joined Abbey Life as a Sales Associate whilst holding down various other part time jobs that allowed him to train for a pilots licence.
He left BA in 1989 to concentrate full time with Abbey, becoming the 2nd top sales person in the country and subsequently Branch Manager.
In 1993, he left Abbey to concentrate on property acquisition and development which included his first foray into the hospitality world.
Surinder founded Arora Hotels in 1999 which is now one of the fastest growing private hotel companies in the UK with over 1,000 employees. The primary focus of Arora Hotels is design, construction and operation of luxury hotels. The company has a consistent track record of delivering superlative quality, service and hospitality with quantum revenue and profit growth.
The portfolio currently comprises of 6 directly owned and managed hotels with over 2,500 bedrooms located at Heathrow and Gatwick airports and Manchester city-centre, including the award-winning Sofitel London Heathrow, Terminal 5.
At The Brit Oval, Arora is currently working with Surrey County Cricket Club to develop a luxury hotel.
Arora Hotels has been selected as the preferred partner to build and operate the four star Royal Ascot Hotel, located opposite the world famous racecourse.
The property arm of the Arora Group – Arora Management Services, asset manages a portfolio of landmark office buildings at key UK airports.
Surinder is a keen golfer – so much so that he holds a minority interest in Wentworth Golf Club.
