Sir Nigel Knowles

Sir Nigel Knowles is CEO and Managing Partner of DLA Piper. Since 1996 he has led DLA Piper from a regional UK law firm to the world's largest. DLA Piper has a turnover in excess of £1bn with 4,200 lawyers across 30 countries.

In 2004 Nigel was appointed Chairman of the Managing Partners Forum and in 2008 Chairman of the Legal Sector Alliance. In 2009 he was appointed Knight Bachelor for services to the legal profession. In 2010 he was appointed Chairman and Non-Executive Director of Blenheim Capital. Nigel is a Fellow of Harris Manchester College, University of Oxford, Visiting Professor of the University of Sheffield and received an Honorary Doctorate of Civil Law from the University of Sheffield.
