Robert J.M. Hornman

 A passionate hotelier, Robert Hornman, who holds a hotel management degree from the Netherlands, secured his first General Manager position in Jakarta at age 28. Hornman’s career has since led him to various different countries, making him a true cosmopolitan with a deep understanding of the hotel business.

In 1996 he moved from hotel operations to a corporate sales and marketing position at Accor and, in the following years, held various positions at different

destinations, including Vice President Sales & Marketing – Asia based in Bangkok; Vice President Global Sales and Business Development at the company’s head office in Paris; and Managing Director of Accor Dorint SMARD GMBH in Munich. In 2007, Hornman became Vice President Operations Sofitel for Central Europe and Eastern Countries.

In September 2008 he joined Worldhotels, the international hotel group for independent hotels and was appointed Managing Director in August 2009.

In recent years, the leading collection of independent four- and five-star hotels has expanded its position in the international hotel sector and now represents over 250 hotels in EMEA and 450 worldwide.

Hornman is married and has three children. When his global career doesn’t see him at one of the group’s hotels or at an international travel conference, he likes to spend his free time outdoors and might be found jogging, hiking or skiing.
