Nominations for the Annual Young Leader Award at The International Hotel Investment Forum OPEN
Berlin, Germany: The International Hotel Investment Forum (IHIF), in conjunction with the International Society of Hospitality Consultants have opened nominations for the fifth annual IHIF Young Leader Award.
This prestigious award, widely recognised and respected throughout the industry, is presented to a young hospitality leader who has demonstrated an outstanding contribution to the industry.
For the first time in its history, the award will be open to candidates from across the globe, with no geographical limitations. The prestigious recognition will be presented on Monday 4th March 2013 in a dedicated session at the 16th IHIF.
Tess Pearson, Event Director, Questex Media Group and host of IHIF Berlin commented; “during its lifetime, the prominence of this award has grown throughout the industry and it is now the right time to open the opportunity to all aspiring young leaders across the world. We are delighted to be able to do so and continue our commitment to championing the talented young members of our industry.
Lori Raleigh, Executive Director, ISHC commented; “The Young Leader Award is one that we at ISHC are all very proud and excited to be part of. It represents a very special opportunity to recognise emerging leadership talent in the hospitality industry. We are delighted to be co-sponsors of the award with the IHIF and looking forward to congratulating this year’s winner at the IHIF conference in March 2013.
The 2012 recipient, Alexandra Zubko, Vice President, Head of Global Strategy for InterContinental Hotels Group commented on how receiving the Annual Young Leader Award had affected her professional life: “Since being awarded the IHIF Young Leader Award in 2012, I have been approached by more people in the industry and generally feel a part of the international community. As a newcomer to the industry, it has been a great welcome! The process itself was relatively straightforward, as the questions that are used to assess the candidates are insightful and challenge the candidates to reflect on their contributions. More rewarding, though, was the process of meeting with the ISHC who are well-connected in the industry, have interesting points of view and are engaging to get to know.
Candidates eligible for nomination for the IHIF Young Leader Award must fulfil the following criteria:
• be under 35 years of age
• worked in a hospitality-related field
• completed a significant project for his or her hotel/organisation
• be recognised by leaders of his or her own hotel/organisation as an emerging leader
