Nominations open for the Annual Young Leader Award at The International Hotel Investment Forum
BERLIN (December 10, 2013): In partnership with the International Society of Hospitality Consultants (ISHC), the International Hotel Investment Forum (IHIF) has opened submissions for the sixth IHIF Young Leader Award.
The award recognises outstanding contribution to the industry by a young hospitality leader and has become a significant part of the annual IHIF programme. The award will continue to be open to candidates from across the globe, with no geographical limitations.
Carmen Hui, Senior Vice President - Acquisitions, Europe, Host Hotels was the 2013 recipient of the award and commenting on her experience said: “winning the award, which was judged by a panel of distinguished industry leaders, was indeed a delightful surprise. However, what was most touching was the fact that my team had submitted an application to nominate me for this award. It made me realise how much my colleagues value and respect me and as a result, I have made it a goal to become an even more innovative and inspiring leader. For me, the submission by my team for the award was the true honour; the actual receipt of the award was the icing on top.”
Andrea Belfanti, Executive Director ISHC commented: “this is the sixth year that ISHC have partnered with the IHIF Young Leader Award and every year the standard of nominees is excellent. It is vital for the industry to recognise and reward emerging talent as these are the future leaders of the hospitality sector who will shape the next chapter of the story.
Candidates eligible for nomination for the IHIF Young Leader Award must fulfil the following criteria:
- be under 35 years of age
- worked in a hospitality-related field
- completed a significant project for his or her hotel/organisation
- be recognised by leaders of his or her own hotel/organisation as an emerging leader

The deadline for submissions is midnight on 31st January 2014. Please note that all candidates need to be nominated by another person from within their organisation or by someone with direct work experience with the nominee.
This year’s conference will take place on the 3-5th March 2014 at the InterContinental Hotel Berlin, Germany.
