Geórgia has 20+ years experience in real estate finance, with particular focus on debt raising and structured transactions.
In her role at CBRE Hotels Geórgia assists clients to identify the most suitable debt package and leverage structure to support their business plan and investment objectives. Working closely with the Corporate Finance team Geórgia acts as debt advisor to hotel investors and sponsors, and sources, arranges and negotiates loans on their behalf. Geórgia works with clients in the context of acquisitions, refinancing and joint ventures, advising on availability of debt, potential lenders to approach and achievable debt terms. Her experience ranges from arranging Senior loans through to Mezzanine, Whole loans and CMBS transactions and working on bi-laterals, club deals and syndicated loans provided by banks, institutional capital lenders and debt funds.
Prior to CBRE Hotels Geórgia was an Investment Banker at Rothschild Bank in London, where she advised clients on a variety of debt and equity transactions, including acting as independent adviser to the Chairman of the Board of the Kings Cross Partnership, advising Shell UK on the sale of Shell Centre to Canary Wharf Group and Qatari Diar, and assisting Peel Holdings on capital structure and debt restructuring in connection with their outlet retail development in Gloucester Quays. Whilst at Rothschild she also advised clients on a number of debt restructurings after the 2008 financial crisis and raised £135m of acquisition finance from Deutsche Bank for a HNWI acquiring an office tower in Canary Wharf during the paralysis of the UK debt markets in 2009/2010.
Prior to Rothschild Geórgia spent 7 years at the Real Estate Finance team of EY in London, where she focused on occupation strategy for large corporates and sale and leaseback transactions.
After graduating as a Civil and Industrial Engineer in Brazil, Geórgia worked for several years in Project Management of large hospitality projects in Brazil, and subsequently received an MBA from London Business School with a focus on Finance.
